AUGUST 28 - SEPTEMBER 21
AT THE LUCILLE LORTEL THEATRE
TICKETS NOW ON SALE!

Comedian Jacqueline Novak’s GET ON YOUR KNEES is the most high-brow show about blow jobs you’ll ever see. Novak spins her material on the femininity of the penis and the stoicism of the vulva into an unexpectedly philosophical show that’s part feminist outcry, part coming-of-age tale of triumph. Ira Glass calls it a “nearly Talmudic dissection of a subject. Really funny and just really like nothing else.”

For sold out shows, wait list begins 2 hours prior to curtain. Interested patrons must arrive in person to the box office to join the wait list. If any seats become available, they will be sold to those on the wait list in the order in which they signed up. Tickets will be sold at full price — no discounts are accepted for the wait list.

Please arrive on time. Late seating is not guaranteed and will be done at the discretion of house management.

★★★★
"Absurd, real and hilarious. Novak's winning show does what the best comedy can do: It changes the conversation.”
- Time Out New York

“Critic's Pick! Brilliant on the absurdity of having and being a thinking, feeling, desiring, body. Shrewd, explicit, though not exactly raunchy, this is the funniest show about Cartesian dualism you will see all year.”
- New York Times

"Clearly her masterwork."
- New York Magazine

"The show is an overthinker’s delight, and a reminder that a woman’s humor can cut as deeply as her rage."
-The New Yorker

"Damn funny with provocative and superbly articulated material."
- The Hollywood Reporter

“Jacqueline Novak’s Get On Your Knees solidifies her place as a comedic powerhouse — the rest of the world just needs to catch up.”
- Vanity Fair

Jacqueline Novak said, “I’ve been working on this show for the last few years, everywhere from comedy clubs and backyard parties in Brooklyn to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and most recently in black box theaters in Los Angeles. It’s thrilling to bring it to New York City, the town where I developed as comedian, not to mention at one of its most beautiful theaters— the Cherry Lane."

"Jacqueline Novak is my favorite stand-up comedian, period. Everyone else you’ve seen is a complete fraud, myself included,” said director John Early. “In the comedy hellscape we’re all currently suffering through, oversaturated with lazy irony and didacticism, Jacqueline is a shocking ray of intellectualism, craft, and pot-belly laughs. I feel very passionate about Jacqueline and I’m hoping that doesn’t constrict our rehearsal process. It is one of the great honors of my life to be directing (read: traipsing around the West Village with Jacqueline after shows) Jacqueline Novak: Get on Your Knees.”

“Jacqueline is a one of a kind voice for the ages,” said Natasha Lyonne. “I’m thrilled to present her show, as she is a total original whose linguistic gymnastics took my brain topsy turvy while doubling me over with laughter. I can’t wait for people to experience her hugely relevant show and singular artistry at Cherry Lane.”

What the comedy world is saying about Jacqueline Novak…

"People often ask me what comedy to see live and my current #1 recommendation is Jacqueline Novak’s newest hour. Completely original, hilarious, cathartic, and personal. It’s brilliant without shortchanging the audience on laughs. She is the future of comedy…just ask Miranda July or Natasha Lyonne or John Mulaney or former president Barack Obama (last one is made up)." - Mike Birbiglia

"Jacqueline Novak's unapologetic and original comedy is the kind that gives me hope in this business." - Amy Schumer

“For those of you who don’t know, Jacqueline is the funniest comedian around.” - Lena Dunham

"Jacqueline Novak can be best described by a word that does not exist yet which means hilarious, totally original yet seemingly familiar yet totally disruptive yet absolutely comfortable and also so funny that you don't realize until later that you’re forever changed." - John Mulaney

“Totally interesting and really funny and just really like nothing else.  Philosophical, almost, I felt like no stone was unturned. In the best possible way. A nearly Talmudic dissection of a subject.” - Ira Glass

“It was a staggering show, the kind of thing that changed everyone in the room. I laughed beside a stranger and in laughing together we knew that we had both experienced the very thing Jacqueline was talking about. She’s major. And obviously I’m not alone, everyone who sees her feels this way.” - Miranda July

“Jacqueline Novak is a delightfully unexpected talent and we are lucky to be able to enter her world for an hour.” - Anthony Jeselnik
